Jewellery Remodelling & Bespoke commissions
There is nothing more exciting to us than working with customers to make the jewellery of their dreams come to life.
Our two Goldsmiths, Jess and David, are able to remodel your inherited or sentimental jewellery into new jewellery you love, or they can create a piece using ethical bought materials.
If you have an idea for a remodel, or a new bespoke piece of jewellery, get in touch and make an appointment to meet with Jess in our Beccles shop. Together you'll work to create a design you love, which will be handmade and totally unique to you.
EXAMPLES OF OUR BESPOKE WORK

Our customer had inherited a significant amount of gold, which she wanted to turn into three organic hammered bangles, incorporating the ruby found in the original ring into one of the bangles.
Jess took the time to create an entirely new hammered style that our customer absolutely loved, and set the ruby into one of the hammered facets. Our customer was overjoyed!
Our customer wanted a 1.5 carat diamond engagement ring - in a hurry! We sourced three beautiful natural diamonds and advised the customer on how each diamond compared in terms of size, cut, clarity and price.
He made a decision and we had the ring made by one of our trusted suppliers in time for his proposal - phew!

Understanding how diamonds are graded - "the 4 C's" - is crucial if you want to understand why different diamonds cost different amounts. It can be a little overwhelming at the start but don't worry, we're here to help you and we're committed to finding you the best diamond your money can buy.

Our customer wanted to turn his Dad's old rings into a set of West Ham hammers that he could wear every day. Our goldsmith David melted down the rings and turned them into this stunning pendant. Our customer's Dad has sadly passed away but now he has a pendant to remember him by, and to celebrate his love of football.

Our customer wanted to turn a mix of dated and broken jewellery into one new show-stopper ring she could wear and enjoy every day. She wanted it to be spectacular, but also strong and easy to wear. A bubble ring was the perfect solution, so Jess designed and made this incredible ring!

The ring is entirely made using the customer's gold and diamonds, and every element is hand-made - making it much stronger than cast jewellery.

Our customer told us it was better than anything she could possibly have imagined, and we agree!

ETHICS
At Oliver & J we are committed to creating jewellery using ethical materials. We only buy gemstones from reputable suppliers and can source gems that are traceable from mine to shop.

Jewellery can be made from recycled Gold and Silver, or Single Mine Origin (SMO) Gold.

SMO Gold is mined from a single gold mine, where workers are paid a fair wage and work in safe conditions. These mines help fund education, clean water, and health services, so you can feel happy knowing the ring you've bought has benefited the people who mined the gold.
