Jewellery repairs
We have three experienced goldsmiths working for us, and between them there's nothing they can't fix. Jess, David and Rob are incredibly skilled and will treat your jewellery with absolute care.
There's no job too big or too small, and getting a quote costs nothing. If you have a piece of broken jewellery sitting in a drawer, bring it in to our shop and find out how much it'll cost to get you wearing it again!
REPAIRS​
We offer a wide range of repairs, including:
GEMSTONE MATCHING & REPLACEMENT: If you have lost a gemstone from a piece of jewellery we
can colour match a new stone and replace it.
RING RESIZING: We will resize your rings to make them smaller or larger to fit your fingers. If
needed, we can add stabiliser beads to the inside of your rings to prevent them from
swivelling - this can be especially helpful if your fingers fluctuate in size!
RHODIUM PLATING: Freshen up your white gold jewellery with rhodium re-plating - your jewellery
will gleam like new! From £45
PEARLS: We can clean and re-string your pearls. It is recommended that to avoid breakage, you
re-string your regularly worn pearls every 12 to 18 months and less frequently worn pearls
every 24 months.
CLEAN & POLISH: Bring your old rings in for a refresh. We can clean and polish them to make them
look their best. For just £15 per item.
MAINTENANCE: Come in for a free jewellery check to ensure that your gemstones are secure. We
recommend doing this once a year; don't wait for your diamonds to drop out!
​EMERGENCY RING REMOVAL: For a small charge we offer a ring cutting service. Please telephone
to make an appointment.
EXAMPLES OF OUR REPAIRS
Our customer's antique ring needed re-sizing, but when the ring was checked our goldsmith Jess advised that new claws were needed as the stone was not secure.

When Jess removed the stone she found that the whole support for the stone had worn away! So she added a new mount for the stone so it could sit on a strong base. Then she set the stone with not 4 but 8 new claws, and re-cut the illusion setting to match the original.​​
Where the stone had sat against another ring it had become very worn, so Jess added a piece of gold here to replace the metal worn away. Finally she re-sized the ring.

With this work undertaken, this antique ring is now as good as new!

JESS
Born and raised in Suffolk, Jess is a skilled goldsmith who specialises in hand-making and repairing all kinds of jewellery. She is influenced by the beautiful wildlife, countryside and coastlines around our area, but can turn her hand to any style to suit your taste.
Jess always loves discussing new jewellery projects, so if you have an unworn piece that you’d like to remodel, or an idea for an entirely new design, get in touch with our shop and arrange to meet Jess. You’ll talk about your ideas with her and together create something unique that you truly love. ​​

DAVID

Usually to be found beavering away behind the scenes we thought that it would be nice to introduce you to David, our much loved and exceptionally talented Goldsmith.
David works mostly with silver, gold & platinum, but has also been known to repair brass and most other metals that one could think of!
Semi retired, David works exclusively for Oliver & J carrying out jewellery repairs, ring resizing, restringing of pearls, remodeling work and creating beautiful bespoke pieces for our lovely customers.
