Spotlight on Sapphire, birthstone for September!
Spotlight on Sapphire, birthstone for September! Did you know that ALL these gorgeous coloured gemstones are sapphires?

While best known as a blue stone, sapphires can be every colour in the rainbow! Sometimes they contain delicate intersecting needles of rutile that gemologists call "silk". These can give the sapphire a shimmering, opalescent quality, which looks very pretty.

Sapphire has a Moh's hardness of 9 and is a very hard stone, making it a fantastic choice for everyday jewellery and engagement rings. Possibly the most famous sapphire engagement ring was Princess Diana's blue sapphire and diamond engagement ring, now worn by Kate Middleton.

We are able to source unique, ethical sapphires to make one-of-a-kind bespoke jewellery, and we have a wide range of sapphire jewellery available in our shop and ready to buy. The pieces in these photos are just a selection, so do pop in to take a look at the whole range!

See you soon!
